How to enjoy the foods you LOVE…

… And still keep in physical and mental shape!

Have you ever noticed that it “feels good” when you eat a potato or mashed potatoes?  But then most of us are kind of sluggish and want to sleep after a good helping of potatoes.

Well, they claim that potatoes help the brain release tryptophan, which is a “feel good” drug.  Then, of course, the starch causes a spike in the blood sugar and causes people to become tired and sluggish and to want to go take a nap.

Not good if you are working on projects and need to have peak mental performance and want to remain physically awake and alert.

So one possible solution is to just eat a very small amount.

Then we can do other things like with cheesecake, for example…  Or LOBSTER!

I remember one time I needed to do a project to help answer someone’s question they posted online.  I didn’t really want to go do the work and then post it and go to all that time and effort…  Soooo….

I remembered in VIVID DETAIL the best lobster I ever ate.  I had the memory perfectly revivified.  I could smell it, taste it, I could even feel the texture of it in my mouth along with the melted butter…

Then I set an anchor and attached that feeling of pleasure to doing the project.

I remember standing there talking with the person, while I damn near drooled all over the place as  my mouth began to water…

And not only did I enjoy the conversation, so did they!

(Remember that rule of hypnotic influence — “You go there first!”)

Well, sometimes I don’t want to just play mind games with myself.  Sometimes I want to enjoy sitting down and eating the real food!

And as many of you know, I LOVE pizza!

Well, those of you who are on limited carb diets know, pizza is a “no-no” because of all the carbs.

Now if you’re on a “zone” type diet, there are some things that might work for you — for instance doing a Chef Boy Ardee pizza and putting enough protein on it, then only eating a small piece.

Or the same with the THIN CRUST Boboli crust (By the way, I don’t like the regular Boboli crusts that much, but the thin ones are awesome!  Their sauce is really good too, although it’s sweet… another sauce that is good is Chef Boyardee Sauce or Ragu Pizza Quick sauce).

 But I don’t want to eat a small piece…

So I’ve been experimenting with “lower carb” pizzas…  I actually got FULL before I finished a small pizza last night.

The fat content is high, so those who are really health conscious might want to find low fat or no fat alternatives for the meat toppings.  I’m more concerned with watching my carbs right now, since I’m somewhat of a carbohydrate addict.

You can take care of a lot of the fat content by using skim milk cheese products or imitation cheese products that are reduced or low fat.

So what’s this got to do with “mind control”?

Well, we are people who take responsibility for our lives.  And we like to ENJOY life!

So I ask myself the magic question:  “If I could still enjoy X and lose weight and be healthy and feel good at the same time, how would I?”

Maybe I’ll post more later.  Heck, I might even start a “recipes” section…

It’s amazing that one of the HARDEST things to do is to stick to a diet without getting bored with the menu or to be able to eat out and still stay on the diet.

Yet physical health plays a very IMPORTANT role in our mind control abilities — Mind – Body – Energy.

Anyway, hope you all had fun eating on Thanksgiving!  It’s so funny!  The night before, I went to Texas Roadhouse with a friend of mine, and I had a fairly healthy dinner — a salad, a steak, and part of the baked potato.

Man, I felt GOOD for hours after I ate that meal.

Then Thanksgiving Day, since I wasn’t with family, I went to another restaurant, and I ALMOST ordered from the regular menu, but I got their Turkey Day Special instead…

And I ate every damn bit of mashed potatoes and gravy and stuffing and pumpkin pie.

I felt over-stuffed, and also felt like I ate way too much starch.  Perhaps I “should” have divided it up into a few meals and have just a little bit of each with the turkey for each meal.  But I ate the whole friggin’ thing…

So today I’m back to something more balanced.  Remember, it’s not just how much you enjoy it WHILE you’re eating it — it’s also how much you enjoy it long after you’ve finished eating…

 Have fun!

Sincerely,
Jim
