Improving Confidence – A Mind Control Method For Improving Confidence
If you want to start improving confidence, you want to also make sure you improve your self image and your self esteem at the same time. You want to make sure you’re confident in abilities you can verify. For example, I could become confident that I were “Superman,” but if I were to jump off the Empire State Building, I would most surely go “splat” when I hit the ground – regardless of how “confident” I was before jumping.
Well one of the ways we can start improving confidence in whatever context is important for you – and I would urge you to start with a SPECIFIC CONTEXT where you’d like to start improving your confidence – is to use the Mind Control technique of mental programming or mental rehearsal.
You basically relax body and mind and relax to where you have balanced brain wave activity between left and right hemispheres of the brain.
You could use self-hypnosis or record a hypnosis tape, but we prefer to use “whole brain thinking” and most of the time when someone is using what is traditionally thought of as hypnosis, their conscious mind is “out to lunch,” so to speak.
So using a self-hypnosis or meditation (the Silva Method is a great method, for example, along with some others. My friend John La Tourrette also helped develop a real good course for the Silva Ultramind people, which is also a great way to learn to “go to level”) – and by meditation, I mean ACTIVE meditation, not just ‘zoning out’ as a means of emotional escape, you would do a whole brain / whole mind hookup and then do mental programming and mental rehearsal of what it is you want to have more confidence with.
For example, mental rehearsal of being more confident in social sitations. Or more confident in sports or other types of performance.
Make sure you also mentally rehearse doing whatever it is you want to be confident with CORRECTLY. So for giving a presentation or speech, you don’t necessarily care if the speech is “flawless” – hopefully instead you want to get some RESULT from the presentation or speech.
So using the mental rehearsal and mental programming, you would program for the end result – finishing the speech and closing the deal, with the customer happy they purchased from you. Or talking with someone you met, asking for their contact information or a date, and getting the result you want.
This is a really powerful technique, by the way.
I had done some mental rehearsal to have more confidence and success with meeting women awhile back, and soon afterward, I started noticing I had much more confidence with meeting women AND they were responding to me much differently than they had before. I recorded a 2 CD set on that called “How To Get Virtually Any Woman’s Undivided Attention In Just 30 Seconds Or Less!” because of that mental programming and mental rehearsal “at level”.
It’s a great technique, and I strongly suggest you practice and use it for whatever area(s) you would like to use for improving confidence. Start with some specific activity or context, work on it, and then work on another after you get the results you want in one area. With repeated success you will start improving your overall confidence levels in everything you do, which will make it much easier for you to learn new skills and to try and enjoy things you would have never even considered enjoying before.
